THE HISTORY OF MAISON

2010: MY GRANDMOTHER’S TREASURES

My grandmother, Esperanza García, a Colombian born in North Santander in 1940, has been my greatest source of inspiration and muse for creating MAISON. Passionate about luxury, fashion, and art, she and my grandfather were pioneers in bringing photography to Colombia. Her dedication to detail, pursuit of perfection, innovation, and creativity have been the fundamental pillars that motivated me to develop a brand focused on the buying, exchanging, and selling of second-hand items. Following in her footsteps, we dedicate ourselves to finding treasures that stand the test of time, reflecting her love for quality and elegance in every piece we offer at MAISON.

2013: ITALY

My journey to Milan, Italy, following the path of previous generations, marked a turning point in my life. It was here that I fully immersed myself in the world of Italian fashion and pursued my studies at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni. In Milan, my passion for fashion, vintage luxury accessories, and second-hand goods was ignited even more. In this magical city, I discovered a fascinating universe where true luxury trends are intertwined with culture and art in a cosmopolitan and exhibitionist atmosphere.

2017: TUSCANY

My new adventure began in Tuscany, where I completed a master’s degree in luxury design and accessories at Polimoda. During this time, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in unique experiences with Italian fashion houses and work with luxury accessories. One of the most rewarding experiences was visiting the CHANEL factory, where I witnessed firsthand the craftsmanship, history, and passion that goes into creating each bag. Did you know that up to 10 women are involved in making a CHANEL bag? It’s fascinating to see the meticulous process and collective effort that goes into creating these iconic pieces.

2020: THE FIRST SKETCHES

After an exhaustive search worldwide, I had the opportunity to discover the best treasures for resale and exchange, giving them a second home. It all started with my interest in contributing to the circular economy and sustainable fashion, believing that over time, these items could find a new life and gain renewed emotional value. I firmly believe in second chances and the transformative power they can hold.

2022: FIRST BOGOTÁ SHOWROOM

Our showroom is located in a heritage house in Quinta Camacho, designed by Italian architect Bruno Violi in 1948. This historic house represents the perfect blend of design, art, luxury, and gastronomy. With its exquisite decor, including crystal chandeliers and velvet details, as well as unique spaces, we invite you to immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind experience at MAISON VINTAGE.

Today, vintage fashion has transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, extending its influence from the bustling streets of London to the glamorous runways of Paris. Garments from past decades have secured a privileged place in the fashion industry, attracting the attention of celebrities, designers, and style enthusiasts. This passion for vintage has sparked a revival of iconic styles and inspired a deep appreciation for history and nostalgia among the masses.

2024: MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE WITH MAISON

At MAISON, we’re here to make your luxury collection dreams a reality, turning a dream into a tangible possibility. Acquiring a pre-loved treasure with us can become one of your best investments. There’s a special magic in obtaining a vintage item. If those history-filled objects could talk, they would reveal fascinating and meaningful stories. This is the essence of buying pre-owned items: each piece holds the desires and experiences of those who owned it before. Moreover, learning to enjoy things while we have them and recognizing when it’s the right time to let them go is not only relevant in the world of fashion but also in our own lives.
